Welcome to the Viola Rod & Gun Club, Inc.
Thank you for your interest in the Viola Rod & Gun Club. The information below will provide you the details of the Club’s expectations of its members. More detailed information is contained within the club bylaws. A copy of the bylaws will be provided to all newly elected members, and the bylaws are available to all members. We recommend you review our expectations prior to submitting your application. The goal of the club is gain active members who intend to become involved in club activities. Our success is dependent on the involvement of the membership
Dues, Assessments, and Initiation Fee
Dues:
As per the bylaws the $175 annual dues are prorated to the following schedule:
First Quarter (Jan-Mar): $175.00
Second Quarter (Apr-Jun): $135.00
Third Quarter (Jul-Sep): $100.00
Fourth Quarter (Oct-Dec): $75.00
Initiation Fee:
An initiation fee of $100 is required at the time of your election to membership. This fee is not prorated.
Work time
Each member is required to complete 10 hours of work time annually for the club. Applicants who are elected into membership during the year will be have prorated work time to the following schedule:
First Quarter (Jan-Mar): All meeting and work ours are required
Second Quarter (Apr-Jun): All meetings and 8 work hours are required
Third Quarter (Jul-Sep): 2 meetings and 5 work hours are required
Fourth Quarter (Oct-Dec): 1 meeting and 3 hours are required unless changed by a review of the board
The 10 hours of work time should be considered a minimum. As an active member you should help the club in any manner you can. Work time is not limited to physical activity. There are also numerous administrative activities that are required to keep the club running. When performing work for the club please make sure this is reported. Work time not performed will be assessed at $20 per hour. The bottom line – GET INVOLVED!
Meeting Attendance
As per the bylaws you are required to attend a minimum of 3 meetings. We encourage you to attend as many meetings as you can. In addition to receiving information regarding club activities and business, you will also have the opportunity to become aware of the activities of the Dutchess County Federation as well as the New York State DEC. Most importantly this is your opportunity to voice your opinion. Failure to attend the minimum meeting required will result in an assessment of $15 per meeting missed. In the event you have a conflict and can’t regularly attend meetings you may submit a meeting excuse form to be considered by the Viola Board of Directors.
Fund Raising
As per the bylaws you are required to purchase/sell at least 1 ticket to any fundraiser the club sponsors, up to 2 fundraisers. We encourage you to sell as many tickets as you can above the minimum to improve the financial position of the club. If you are an individual who has a difficult time selling tickets perhaps you would consider donating a prize or soliciting a prize from a local business.

Upon being elected to membership you will receive a new member packet which contains a copy of the bylaws. Upon reading the bylaws you are required to submit your acknowledgement form within 60 days of becoming a member.
